Tree Top Hospital fertility treatments successful

Tree TopHospital Fertility Centre has completed the first IVF cycle in 10 patients These are first ever IVF procedures in the country.   We are pleased that the pregnancy success rate is 6 out of 10 IVF procedures. The success rate of 60% for the single IVF cycle is a significant excellent clinical achievement, up to international standards.

Tree Top Hospital hosted a press conference to share progress for their fertility treatments since opening TTH Fertility Centre in May 2023. The press conference was attended by Tree Top Hospital Chief Operating Officer Mr. Adil Moosa, Medical Director and Consultant Nephrologist Dr. Mladen Knotek, Consultants in Obstetrics and Gynecology and IVF experts, Dr. Zakiya Ahmed and Dr. Anita Gour.

Chief Operating Officer Mr. Adil Moosa noted the importance owners and management of the hospital give bringing positive changes to the healthcare sector of the Maldives by introducing much needed new services and specialties such as fertility.

Medical Director and Consultant Nephrologist Dr. Mladen Knotek spoke on the progress of fertility treatments and future direction of the private tertiary hospital including strategic plans to introduce organ transplant and home dialysis services. Further, Dr. Knotek appreciated the important role of media in education general public on health information.

Dr. Zakiya Ahmed and Dr. Anita Gour shared that currently 160 patients are registered to the Fertility Centre. In the first batch 16 patients have started IVF procedure. Out of which 10 patients have completed embryo transfer and 6 patients have become successfully pregnant thanks to the fertility treatment.
