Special Care Units at Tree Top Hospital is dedicated to provide the highest quality of care for medically complex guests who require extended acute care.

These units are equipped with advanced equipment, nurses who are trained in providing critical care to all age groups, and a controlled environment to provide the care that critically ill guests require.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Tree Top Hospital combines advanced technology and trained health care professionals to provide specialized care to newborns.

Newborns admitted to the NICU usually are premature, have low birth weight, or have a medical condition that requires special care. Babies with heart problems, infections, or birth defects are also cared for in the NICU.

Our NICU team is led by highly-trained neonatologist who work closely with specialists, including physical therapists, occupational therapists and nutritionists to provide hands-on personalized care that lasts beyond initial intervention and recovery period.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Tree Top Hospital provides specialized monitoring and treatment for adults faced with life threatening conditions.

 

The ICU admits guests who need urgent medical and nursing treatment. Guests may be admitted directly to the ICU from the Emergency Department for a variety of reasons, such as cardiac arrest, traffic accident or collapse. Guests may also be transferred from other parts of the hospital if changes in their clinical condition means they need specialist skills provided by the ICU.

 

The ICU is managed by Intensivists who direct and coordinate all clinical care for critically ill guests. They collaborate with specialists from multiple disciplines, nursing and other health professionals, and employs sophisticated equipment and techniques to provide the best outcome possible.

High Dependency Unit (HDU)

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Tree Top Hospital is for guests who require closer monitoring or a higher level of care than can be provided in a general ward but do not require admission into intensive care. The HDU admits those who are less acutely ill, such as post-operative elective surgical guests, or emergency medical guests.

 

Our HDU is managed by a dedicated team of nurses, medical staff, physiotherapists and other health care professionals, and facilitated by state-of-art technology and equipment.

Coronary Care Unit

The Coronary Care Unit is a specialized unit for treating guests with acute cardiac symptoms. We care for patients with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions including:

  • acute congestive heart failure
  • acute coronary syndromes
  • cardiac arrhythmias
  • guests pre/post intervention cardiac procedures

At our Coronary Care Unit we aim to provide holistic care for acute cardiology guests by administering a coordinated multi-disciplinary approach including the initiation of early intervention as appropriate.

We provide care to patients who have undergone procedures in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. These procedures include;

  • angiography
  • electrophysiology studies
  • implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation
  • percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
